About Us

Essentials 4 Your Life was founded in 2006 by Paula Palm. She graduated in 1986 from Stephens College in Columbia, Missouri, with a Bachelor of Arts in Business & Associate of Arts in Fashion Merchandising. Stephens was originally acclaimed as a women’s finishing school in the 60’s teaching everything from overall self-improvement, etiquette and dressing for success. Today, Stephens College is one of the top women’s colleges in the United States.

In 1989, she founded Paula Palm and Associates, a consulting firm that specialized in overall self-improvement for youth. Paula and her associates guided and enhanced hundreds of young people’s lives for over two decades in downtown Chicago. Through her mentoring, she discovered the hot topics and many common issues among most adolescents. Realizing that there wasn’t a program in schools that offered students a full curriculum that builds confidence, deals with peer pressures and the many challenges our youth face today, inspired Paula to create the Essentials 4 Your Life program.

Our curriculum was developed after four years of extensive research, talking to professionals in their fields and holding focus groups with students and their parents. The foundation of our program is based on morals, ethics and integrity with a wealth of information that confronts real issues in a positive manner. Essentials 4 Your Life offers sound advice during the most impressionable and vulnerable time in a young person’s life.

Essentials 4 Your Life promotes positive youth development, learning and overall self-improvement. We consider our program to be part of the ‘Learning Team’ comprised along with parents and teachers to instill valuable guidance. We believe that living a quality life not only includes learning Math, English and Science, but also the “Life Essentials and Life Skills” to better prepare our youth for future success in life. This vital program is a turnkey solution for schools either looking for a program taught during the school day or an after school intervention that inspires more parental involvement. Pease read more about the curriculum, the classes and the topics that we teach under the ‘Curriculum’ tab.
